Welcome to my collection of wine paintings : “Just in Case”
"Just in Case" is part of my Palate to Palette series of contemporary realism paintings of wine depicting an oversized wine bottle, early Penfolds Grange , cork and corkscrew.
I spent a lot of time looking for the right antique corkscrew to make this painting, many hours in Antique shops . The one I chose has so much character! I love the story behind things and often wonder about how many bottles it must have opened and who might have owned it in the past! I also love that it challenged me with all the twists and different surfaces!
It was a privilege to bring it to life in my art, along with a famous bottle of wine.
