I think if you are new to the outback you may have felt like this, as many outback roads are unsealed and seem to go on forever, without passing another car or seeing another person , this I've experienced many times and was the inspiration for my tongue in cheek painting “Never Ending Journey” with the sign post “Absolutely Nothing Next 954 km”.
