“Double Rainbow”
On a trip to Central Australia I visited Rainbow Valley 75 kilometres south of Alice Springs and because of the rough roads it's best accessed by four-wheel drive. Its coloured rocks light up in the early morning and late afternoon, offering spectacular viewing , but I knew I had to visit after rain as the clay pans fill for a short time with water, the reflective pools give a “Double Rainbow” effect and also the inspiration for my painting.
