“Sleeping Lubra”
It's early morning and I'm up with the sun to try and capture one of my favourite places, Mount Sonder, I've painted it many times during my life as this spectacular area is such a beautiful part of Australia in the West Mac Donnell Ranges National Park . I loved the glow of red centre dirt the sculptured rock formations , spinifex grass and the purple morning light hues of Mount Sonder in the distance ,its double peak rises up 1,380 metres (4,530 ft) and dominates the landscape from every vantage point. Mount Sonder is also known as "The Sleeping Lubra" as it resembles a native woman lying asleep with her back on the landscape.
